Music and Health

Musique & Santé is a non-profit organisation advocating and working for the development of live music in hospitals and institutions for the handicapped.

Musique & Santé takes part in the welcoming and support of patients – whatever their age and culture – during their hospitalisation. We work in close cooperation with artists, care staff, patients and their families.

Musique & Santé’s main areas of work are:

- musical actions by professional musicians through different approaches: playing at patients’ bedsides, giving workshops, ambulatory concerts, playing for and with the patients, families, and care staff;

- professional training of care staff and artists on the topic of music in health environments;

- research and reflection with medical and care staff on the role of music in a medical environment.

- mediation: Musique et Santé promotes and encourages the meeting of cultural institutions and artists with hospitals that are willing to develop musical projects
